What About International Privacy Laws?

218 Automotive offers services only within the United States, and the Website is intended only for users in the United States. If you visit from outside the U.S., your information will be transferred to, stored, and processed in the United States. By using the Website, you consent to that transfer and to the use and disclosure of your information as described in this policy, and you agree that U.S. law governs any question related to your use of the Website.

With Whom Do We Share Personal Information?

Our service providers. We may share personal information with companies that perform services on our behalf, such as our shop management and customer messaging platform, payment processors, and parts suppliers. These providers must protect the information and use it only to provide services to us.

Government and legal disclosures. We may disclose personal information when we believe in good faith that it is needed to comply with the law, a court order, or a subpoena; to prevent or investigate fraud or other crimes; to enforce our terms; or to protect the rights, property, or safety of 218 Automotive, our customers, or others.

Mobile information is never sold or shared for marketing. No mobile information, including phone numbers and text messaging opt-in data or consent, will be shared with or sold to third parties or affiliates for marketing or promotional purposes. This excludes text messaging originator opt-in data and consent; this information will not be shared with any third parties.

Newsletters, Emails and Texts to You

You may choose to receive emails or Short Message Service (SMS) text messages from 218 Automotive with informational or promotional content. Messages may come from 218 Automotive directly or from service providers sending on our behalf.

You can opt in by giving us your mobile number or email address when you request a quote, schedule service, drop off your vehicle, or otherwise contact us. Doing so lets 218 Automotive and its service providers contact you about your vehicle, such as service status, estimates, and maintenance reminders, and for general correspondence about your account.

Mobile Texting Terms and Conditions

218 Automotive, and service providers sending on our behalf, send SMS text messages to our customers. These may include appointment confirmations and reminders, vehicle inspection results, repair estimates and approval requests, repair status updates, "your vehicle is ready" pickup notices, invoice and payment links, and scheduled maintenance reminders. You must be 18 or older to opt in. By giving 218 Automotive your mobile number, you agree to receive calls and text messages from us.

Opting out. Reply STOP to any message to stop receiving that type of message. We will send one confirmation text that you have been unsubscribed. You may still receive other types of messages you separately opted into. For example, replying STOP to a maintenance reminder stops maintenance reminders, but you may still receive repair status updates. To start receiving a message type again, sign up the same way you did the first time.

Help. Reply HELP for assistance, or call us at (801) 218-2728.

Message frequency and costs. Message frequency varies; most customers receive fewer than five messages per week, though you may receive more while your vehicle is in the shop. Message and data rates may apply, and any charges are your responsibility. Contact your wireless provider with questions about your plan.

Carriers are not liable for delayed or undelivered messages.

Email Terms and Conditions

218 Automotive sends email to our customers, which may include promotional content such as service specials. By giving us your email address, you agree to receive email from us and confirm that the devices and accounts receiving it are reasonably secured. To stop receiving marketing emails, click the "unsubscribe" link at the bottom of any email and follow the instructions.

Compliance

By using this Website, you agree that your use of it and any services or materials is subject to these Terms and this Privacy Policy, and that you will not violate any local, state, federal, or international law in doing so. 218 Automotive may restrict or end your access to any part of the Website if you violate these Terms, may change or discontinue the Website or any feature at any time without notice, and may update these Terms at any time without notice. We may also report violations of law to the appropriate authorities.

We use the personal information we collect in the normal course of business, primarily to:
